We object to the ticket office closures: read our letter

Today we have published our draft letter of objection to the ticket office closures. In 13,000 words we set out the disastrous impact the proposals will have on disabled passengers (in great detail!) We are now inviting fellow organisations to co-sign. Click here to view the draft letter. We’ve been calling all along for a programme-wide assessment to be made of these proposals. The Department for Transport should have done this but have failed to make it public. It should not have fallen to disabled campaigners to do this work ourselves. We submitted a Freedom of Information Request to the Department for Transport asking for any Equality and Impact Assessment made by them of the proposals.  They did not give it to us. Click here to read the Department for Transport’s response to our FOI. A big thanks to all organisations who have signed our letter so far, including Sense, Equality Trust, DPAC, RMT, the Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People, and more. If your organisation would like to sign, please email policy@transportforall.org.uk by 25th July.
