Transport for All is urging disabled and older people to support a proposal to make South Kensington station stepfree.
The station, which is the gateway to three of London’s top museums, is currently inaccessible to many with limited mobility, because of stairs. Campaigners from the local Step Free Access Campaign are calling for the installation of lifts to ensure that this important cultural destination is open to all.
Please email southkensington.consultation@tube.tfl.gov.uk by Friday 7th October, stating your support for making South Kensington stepfree.
You could include information about how it would affect you, but simply a one-line statement of support strengthens the case for making South Kensington station accessible. It’s vital that disabled and older people’s voices on the need for access are heard loud and clear.
More information on the consultation can be found on Transport for London’s website http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/projectsandschemes/20735.aspx
