There is only one week left before our next Pan London Mobility Forum meeting. We’re very pleased to confirm the attendance of some great speakers (see below) to discuss vehicle design and accessibility. The event is nearly fully booked so don’t take too long to register. Click here to register: http://bit.ly/1s55OTv (please note that it is compulsory to register)

When: Friday 5th December 2014, 13.30 – 17.00 (registration from 13.30, start of the event at 13.50)

Where: Friends House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ

The forum is a unique arena for discussion and debate on capital wide transport issues that affect disabled and older Londoners.

2014 has been a busy year when it comes to accessible transport issues – From our Sick of Waiting campaign to improve patient transport services in London to the news that all of London’s Crossrail stations will now be fully accessible from the day it opens, in 2019 – there will certainly be much to discuss!

Panel Discussion – Influencing vehicle design and accessibility

The panel discussion will this time focus on vehicle access design. We will also look at plans for the new Crossrail. Alan Benson, TfA activist and author of rail blog http://neveradulljourney.wordpress.com/, will introduce the discussion. We are very pleased as we will be joined by some of those who commission and design bus vehicles and tube trains:

  • Mike Weston, Director of Buses
  • Jon Hunter, Head of Design
  • Phil Hinde, Rolling Stock Manager at Crossrail
  • Kevin Moore, Lead Sponsor for the New Tube

Borough round-up

The forum will also feature a ‘borough round-up’ where representatives from across London report back on the current news and issues that they face in their area.
