TfA chair speaks to 5 News about the impact of pavement parking on disabled people

Our chair Alan Benson has spoken to 5 News on the “annoying and demoralising” effect pavement parking has on him and other disabled people.

It comes as the UK Government launches a consultation on the issue, which we are urging our members to respond to by selecting the option for a new law on pavement parking to be introduced.

Pavement parking seriously impacts disabled pedestrians. We believe a new law on this issue would maintain safe and accessible walking routes – something we have been pushing for with our Pave The Way campaign.

Speaking to 5 News, Alan said: “It feels deeply personal when it happens to you. It’s very hard to describe just how annoying and demoralising it can be.”
