Our Community Transport Operations Manual was launched on 14th July at the CTA’s London Roadshow.
The roadshow was well attended at Friends Meeting House in Euston. CTA UK CEO Keith Halstead opened the event by talking about the new government, and what the CTA’s plans were regarding meeting new ministers. He revealed that they had already been down to Lewes to meet with Libdem Junior Transport Minister, Norman Baker MP, and they were planning to meet with Nick Hurd MP, the Junior Minister for Charities.
Scott Rosser, Director for London at the CTA then spoke about the working relationship between TfA and the CTA, and how that developed. Bryan Myles Consultancy Director, then went on to introduce the handbook, explain its contents and the work that had gone into producing it.
Part of our Get Moving project, funded by London Councils, is to provide business support to the Community Transport Sector in London.
Last year we ran a series of training courses for CT staff, and this year we have worked with CTA Consultancy to produce the Operations Manual.
The manual is basically everything you need to know about the set up and running of a community transport service. The handook is divided into three main sections – operations, policy and finance – and covers everything from vehicle maintenaince to contingency plans.
It is available free of charge to all Community Transport organisations in London and can be used as an induction for new operations managers, a continuous source of reference or a guide to expanding services.
