It’s #GivingTuesday and there is good news: Transport for All has been chosen to be part of Starbucks’ initiative #CheerforGood. As a result, we’ve been invited to fundraise at the Starbucks beside Brixton Tube Station tomorrow (Wednesday 29th November) between 11am and 6pm.
Come and say hello; and encourage people to donate to unlock transport for Disabled and older people.
All money raised will go towards TfA’s helpline in its effort to support Disabled and older people who struggle to travel in London every day. It will also support our campaigns, which champion our rights to travel with freedom and independence in our great city.
If you can’t come, no worries. You can still support us. Here are 4 easy ways to fundraise:
1) Donate or encourage your friends and family to make a one off donation towards TfA’s work to break down transport barriers.
You can do so via our PayPal webpage: https://www.paypal.com/uk/fundraiser/charity/74663
2) Make some noise for us on social media and help us get £2000 from Starbucks.
As part of the Starbucks initiative #CheerforGood, we could be one of the 30 charities (out of 200) to receive a £2000 donation towards our activities. In order to receive this money we need to be the community making the most noise on Twitter. Help us get this money just by tweeting your support to TfA as often as you can, and encourage your followers to do the same from the 29th November to the 20th December. Your tweets need to mention “@TransportforAll #CheerforGood“. For example, you could tweet “I am supporting the work of @TransportforAll #CheerforGood“
3) Fundraise… while you shop for Christmas / New Year
Transport for All has recently joined a fundraising scheme called “Give as you live“. This scheme gives people the opportunity to fundraise for their favourite charity, while shopping online; at no extra cost to them and with no hassle or inconvenience.
3,000 online retailers are part of this programme: This includes Amazon, Argos, Boots, John Lewis, eBay, Marks & Spencer, Expedia, Tesco, thetrainline.com and more.
They will donate to Transport for All up to 2% of every pound you spend, when you shop through www.giveasyoulive.com.
It doesn’t cost you anything: the donation is made by the retailer. You just need to start your shopping via the Give as you Live website, select your retailer and shop normally on the retailer’s website. Click here if you want to know more about how it works.
It is simple, and it works. One of our members raised nearly £30 for us in 2017 by shopping via www.giveasyoulive.com.

4) Leave Transport for All a Gift in your will.
By leaving a gift in your Will, you will ensure that Transport for All is there to support older and Disabled people traveling and living their lives like everyone else.
The income we receive from gifts in wills is vital in ensuring that we can continue the work we do in the future; carrying on the fight for equal access and freeing Disabled and older people to travel. This is so important in releasing people from a house-bound existence, reducing loneliness and isolation, and increasing opportunities to socialise, recreation and employment. It’s a huge comfort to know that we have a free Helpline and trained staff just a phone call away, to make a real difference in journey planning, challenging and changing transport policies and behaviour.
