Leaving us a gift in your will
How will we travel in the future? Hoverboards? Teleportation? Who knows but first we would like to start with a fully accessible Tube network!
Remembering Transport for All in your will means supporting the cause of accessible transport in the future – and ensuring that todays disabled children will take up their right to ride and do so accessibly as equal citizens.
Leaving us a gift in your will not cost you anything now but will make a massive difference to Transport for Alls work. It means we can plan for the future and have a secure financial base from which to continue and grow our work around improving transport access.
How do I leave a legacy gift in my will?
There are a number of ways you can remember TfA in your will. We understand that your first priority will always be your loved ones however after they have been provided for there are ways you can support causes and charities that are near to your heart.
You should get everything checked over by a financial advisor or solicitor before you begin writing or updating your will.
Below are some legacy gifts you could consider:
- Residuary gift – A gift of the entire amount or a proportion of what is left over when all other gifts and taxes have been paid from your estate.
- Pecuniary gift – A specified amount which is left to a named person, charity or other beneficiary.
- Specific gift -The gift of a specific item liken item of jewellery, art or property, rather than a sum of money. The item must be described exactly and the name and address of the person or organisation to whom the gift has been left should be given.
I already have a will can I just amend it?
Yes you can. If you already have written a will and would like to make some changes, all you need to do is add a codicil, which is a separate instruction that is kept alongside your will. You can download a template for a codicil form here or we can send you one in the post.
