Community

We are Transport for All (TfA), the only disabled-led group striving to increase access to transport and streetspace across the UK. We are a pan-impairment organisation, advocating for every disabled person. We work with our members to fight for transport access, championing disabled and older people’s rights and providing an unrivalled community of support.

As a grassroots membership organisation we have our history steeped in the protest and punk rock movements of the 1980’s, with the now-infamous scenes of wheelchair users chaining themselves to buses and, while our methods have changed, we hold this spirit of justice and progression at the centre of our work. Transport for All’s rich cultural, social and political history tells the story of disabled people’s fight to be part of society

Our community is at the heart of everything we do: For forty years TfA have been the only community-led organisation campaigning for equal access to transport. We sincerely believe that we are stronger together, and our voice is louder (and clearer) when we are collaborating and approaching issues from the same position. We also know how isolating it can be to be a disabled activist/campaigner, and how exhausting, and we wanted to create a space where we can offer one another peer-to-peer support, and also share skills, expertise, knowledge, and contacts.

We are currently revising our signup forms and making improvements to the accessibility and process. We hope to be launching in Spring 2022.

In the meantime, please do join us on social media where you can keep up to date with our work, planned events and campaigns, and share your views with us! You can find us through the links below.
