Our Access, Rights, Advice (ARA) scheme
We provide advice, support and education for over 250 Deaf, disabled and older people a month, challenging discrimination and building capacity for self- led campaigns.
Our friendly team can provide you with any help you need, including specific support in areas such as the following:
You can also contact us with your views, ideas and concerns regarding accessible travel. We use this to shape our campaigns and policy work.
Our Access, Rights, Advice scheme is temporarily on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are closely monitoring the government advice about travel and we will reopen our helpline when appropriate. Our phone helpline is closed at the moment. We are still occasionally monitoring our e-mail inbox. Please watch this space for further announcements.

Disabled or Older Person’s Freedom Pass, please call the Freedom Pass helpline at 0300 330 1343, their opening hours are weekdays 9am – 5pm. Alternatively, please e-mail London councils at firstname.lastname@example.org

Alternatively, you can call Transport for London at 0343 222 1234 to apply.
If you want to apply over the phone, you will need:
- Have either your passport or driving licence to hand. You will be asked for the number to verify your identity and age. If you don’t give your passport or driving licence number over the phone you will also be sent a verification letter. You need to take this letter to the Post Office with the required documents for verification.
- You will need to pay a £20.00 charge. This can be done by debit/credit card over the telephone or in person at the Post Office.
- You will be sent a letter in the post. Send a passport sized photo in the return envelope.
- Allow up to 2 weeks to receive your 60+ Oystercard.
