Hackney Community Transport is operated by HCT Group

HCT Groupare one of the largest community transport social enterprises in the UK and operate in a number of London boroughs as well as in West Yorkshire. It provides a wide range of commercial and community transport services as well as running a learning centre which delivers training for unemployed and employed people.

Commercial services include:

• Mainstream red bus routes, under contract from Transport for London
• Day centre transport, under contract from London Boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Lambeth
• Special educational needs transport, under contract from London Borough of Waltham Forest
• Yellow school bus routes, under contract from West Yorkshire Passenger transport Authority

Community Transport services in Hackney include:

• Group Transport – a low cost accessible minibus service for community and voluntary groups in Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Lambeth and Southwark
• Capital Call – a Door 2 Door service complementing Taxicard, provided by Private Hire vehicles for users with mobility difficulties in 11 London boroughs where there is a shortage of black cabs.
• ScootAbility – an award-winning mobility scooter home delivery service, operated in partnership with Camden and Islington Councils
• 812 Route – a local fixed route community bus service in Islington for those who have difficulty accessing mainstream transport.
• Your Car – an individual transport service for Hackney, Haringey and Islington residents who find it difficult to access public transport
• Integrated Transport Solutions – a “one stop” shop service, provided by our Transport Co-ordination Centre, accessing a whole range of transport modes from taxis to coaches.

Learning Centre courses includes:

• Training for women to enter employment in the bus industry
• NVQ Level 2 in Road Passenger Transport
• PCV licence, both D and D1 training
• BTEC customer care
• BTEC health and social care
• Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS)
• Passenger Assistance Training Scheme (PATS)
