WORK FOR US – Become the new Director of Transport for All

Added: 23 October 2017 | Updated: 23 October 2017

After ten successful years, our Director Faryal Velmi is stepping down and moving on.

We are now looking for our new Director. Are you someone passionate about transport access and ready to champion the rights of the Disabled and older people in London? If yes, then please apply!

Transport for All – Director (Chief Executive Officer)

Location: London

Salary: circa £45,000

Other: open to flexible working, part time, working from home, job shares, etc.

This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the UK’s most dynamic and influential Disability rights organisations.

Transport for All (TfA) is dedicated to championing the rights of Disabled and older to travel with freedom and independence in London.

London is one of the wealthiest cities in the world. Yet many transport services remain out of bounds for its Disabled and older citizens. Physical barriers like flights of stairs, gaps and obstacles combined with the way transport services are run prevent many of us from getting out and about and living our lives. We want to live, work and enjoy our lives in a capital that is accessible to all. Access to transport is vital in making this happen.

We are a pan-impairment Disability rights charity, focused exclusively on transport. With a 25 year track record of campaigning and empowering Disabled and older Londoners, we have our origins in the early pioneers of accessible travel. TfA is a user-led organisation: our group of 9 Trustees are all Disabled and older people, and this is absolutely key to our values.

Under the current Director, we have seen some huge campaigning successes that can be seen in London’s transport infrastructure and local and national government policies. We are now looking for an inspiring leader who can build on this strong platform and define the next stage of our organisation’s journey.

The successful candidate will:

This role will suit a motivated candidate who is ambitious for both themselves and the organisation they lead, and applicants stepping up into their first senior leadership role are welcomed alongside those who have established executive-level experience.

Transport for All is determined to ensure that Disabled people continue to be well represented across the organisation and within its leadership, so is very keen to receive applications from Disabled people.

All reasonable adjustments will be made throughout the recruitment process and following appointment to the role for people who need them.

This information is available in Word format but please let us know if you have other communication requirements.
